‘Terrorists Have Agenda To Displace Yoruba, Occupy Our Land’— APC Chieftain Slams Kwara Deputy Governor, Faults Govt’s Silence On Oro-Ago Attacks
Governor himself has not been forthcoming enough. We should graduate from, you know, sending condolences and press statements. We should go into real action.
Ilorin, Kwara State- A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Abdul-Rahoof Bello, popularly known as Labelabe, has raised alarm over a coordinated terrorist agenda to take over parts of Yoruba land, particularly in Kwara South, accusing State government of failing to respond adequately to the crisis.
Speaking on Monday during Sunrise Daily, a programme on Channels Television, Bello alleged that recent attacks on communities in Oro-Ago were not random but part of a calculated attempt to displace indigenous Yoruba residents.
He expressed outrage over the silence of the Kwara State Deputy Governor, Kayode Alabi, noting that the affected communities are within his own constituency.
“The states, well, I don’t know why the states cannot mobilize the deputy. All the communities in Oro-Ago that were, you know, desolated are the communities of the sitting deputy governor of the states. And we have not heard a single word from him, either as condolence or in sympathy of the victims,” Bello said.
“He has not even visited the villages. Right? So, I don’t know.”
Bello also faulted the response of the Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, accusing him of not doing enough beyond issuing statements.
When asked whether the governor had visited the affected communities, Bello acknowledged some previous visits but insisted they were insufficient in the face of escalating violence.
“Well, the governor visited some places in the past, like he visited Oke-Ode, he visited Babanla, et cetera,” he said.
“But apart from that, yes, governor himself has not been forthcoming enough. We should graduate from, you know, sending condolences and press statements. We should go into real action.”
The APC chieftain further alleged that the attacks were part of a broader and dangerous plot to alter the demographic composition of the region.
“Because these people have agenda. It has been coordinated attacks. What is the agenda? The agenda is to displace the Yoruba for the aliens to occupy our land. That is the agenda,” he stated.
His comments come amid rising insecurity in parts of Kwara South, where residents have reported repeated attacks, displacement, and growing fear over the safety of their communities.
