Lokoja, Kogi State– Terrorists suspected to be bandits on Friday evening launched a deadly ambush along the Ijowa–Ijagbe axis in Ijagbe, Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State, abducting six passengers and leaving a commercial bus driver critically injured.
Afrika Eyes gathered that the assailants, heavily armed and operating with apparent coordination, flagged down the bus before unleashing sporadic gunshots to force it to a halt.
The bus driver, whose identity had not been officially disclosed at the time of filing this report, was allegedly shot at close range during the chaos.
He was said to have been rushed to an undisclosed hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The Ijowa–Ijagbe road, located in Mopamuro LGA, has reportedly become increasingly dangerous in recent months, with locals lamenting what they describe as inadequate security presence and delayed response to distress calls.
