Ilorin,  Kwara State– Terrorists have launched yet another assault in Kwara State, abducting four rice farmers in Bokungi Village, Edu Local Government Area, barely 24 hours after gunmen attacked a church in Eruku, Ekiti LGA.

Sources told Afrika Eyes that the latest incident occurred on Wednesday evening while the victims were working on their rice farmlands during the peak of the harvest season.

“It has been confirmed that bandits struck again at Bokungi under the Lafiagi Emirate, where four people were abducted. Information is still emerging,” a local source said.

The attackers were said to have stormed the farms in numbers, shooting sporadically as the farmers were re-bagging their harvested rice.

Residents described the repeated attacks as alarming and called on security agencies to intensify operations across the Lafiagi–Bokungi axis to prevent further abductions.

As of the time of filing this report, the Kwara State Police Command had yet to issue an official statement.

Afrika Eyes had reported that terrorists stormed a branch of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku town, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing three worshippers and abducting several others, including the pastor, during a Tuesday evening service.

Three members were killed instantly as panic swept through the congregation.

“The gunmen came into the church while people were gathered. They started shooting and three people died immediately,” a source told Afrika Eyes.

“They later rounded up some worshippers, including the pastor, and marched them into the bush.”
