Suspected Ex-Convict Impersonating Military Personnel Arrested In Akwa Ibom
The suspect had perpetrated a series of crimes in the state using a military uniform with the rank of a warrant officer.
Uyo, Akwa Ibom State —The Akwa Ibom Police Command has arrested an ex-convict who has been parading himself as a military personnel.
It was gathered that the suspect, Eddiong Anthony Matthew, an indigene of Ikot Ekong Village in Mkpat Enin LGA of the state was arrested by operatives on crime prevention patrol on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
In a statement released on Thursday, by the spokesperson of the command, ASP Timfon John, disclosed that the suspect was an ex-convict who had been perpetrating a series of crimes in the state in military uniform with a warrant officer rank.
He said the suspect had perpetrated a series of crimes in the state using a military uniform with the rank of a warrant officer.
Items recovered from him included one walkie-talkie, phones suspected to have been stolen from his victims, a brown coverall dress and an RCC ID Card.
