Sowore Accuses Wike Of Laundering Public Funds To Buy U.S. Properties, Petitions Florida Attorney General
According to documents and findings shared by Sowore, at least three properties in Winter Springs, Florida, are linked to Wike.
Abuja, Nigeria– Nigerian human rights activist and publisher of SaharaReporters, Omoyele Sowore, has accused former governor of Rivers State and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Ezenwo Wike (CON, GSSRS), of laundering stolen public funds to acquire properties in the United States.
Sowore revealed that he has formally contacted the Office of the Attorney General of Florida, James Uthmeier, to alert U.S. authorities that Wike allegedly used illicit proceeds of crime to purchase and traffic real estate in the state—acts that constitute first-class felonies under Florida law.
According to documents and findings shared by Sowore, at least three properties in Winter Springs, Florida, are linked to Wike.
These properties, he alleged, were not registered in the former governor’s name but were instead concealed under the identity of his wife, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike, who serves as a judge at the Nigerian Court of Appeal.
Sowore further alleged that the properties were apportioned to the couple’s children, creating a web of concealment designed to mask the true ownership and origin of the funds.
The outspoken activist emphasised that this revelation may only be the beginning, as more hidden properties connected to Wike could still surface.
Sowore noted that investigators are tracking additional leads that point to a larger international money laundering network involving top Nigerian politicians.
Sowore, who has built a reputation for exposing corruption among Nigeria’s political elite, described Wike’s actions as a betrayal of public trust.
He argued that while millions of Nigerians face poverty, unemployment, and the lack of basic infrastructure, political figures like Wike continue to divert public resources abroad to secure luxury estates for themselves and their families.
This is not the first time Sowore has directly challenged powerful figures in Nigeria.
The former presidential candidate has faced numerous legal battles, including arrests and prosecutions, for his relentless criticism of government corruption and mismanagement.
Despite the risks, Sowore has consistently pressed for accountability, good governance, and respect for human rights.
Sowore stated, ”
It turns out that international thief Nyesom Wike has three different properties in Winter Springs, Florida. All of them were hidden under the name of his wife, Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike, who also serves as a Court of Appeal judge in Nigeria, and shared out to his children.
“There may be even more properties, but we are making progress. We have already contacted the Office of the Attorney General of Florida, James Uthmeier to notify them that Nyesom Ezenwo Wike – CON, GSSRS has laundered stolen funds (proceeds of crime) to purchase and traffic properties in their state, which are first-class felonies.”
