Sokoto State- Sheikh Bashar Danfili, an Islamic cleric in Sokoto State, has appealed to the general public for financial assistance following the harrowing kidnapping of six of his relatives.

It was gathered that the victims, including a man, his mother, stepmother, two wives, and his sister, were abducted by bandits on their way to an undisclosed village in the state.

In a distressing video circulating on social media, Sheikh Danfili revealed a horrifying act by bandits who allegedly fed their dogs with the flesh of an abducted driver, adding another gruesome layer to the already dire situation.

Danfili explained that the bandits had demanded an exorbitant ransom, which the families are unable to afford, with the deadline for payment fast approaching.

“My close relatives were kidnapped, though I prefer not to disclose their names. They were en route to a village when they were ambushed. The driver was killed instantly, and the bandits fed his flesh to their dogs,” Danfili said.

Among the remaining captives are a man, his mother, stepmother, two wives, and his sister. The ransom demanded amounts to millions of Naira, which we are unable to raise,” he continued.

“As a scholar with no financial resources, my role is simply to teach from the books behind me. The bandits have set a deadline for the ransom, after which they threaten to execute all the captives. I fear they will carry out this threat, especially after the recent killing of a traditional ruler in the state by his kidnappers.”

Sheikh Danfili issued a desperate plea to the public for assistance in raising the ransom to save his loved ones.
