Abeokuta, Ogun State – The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has arrested three suspects involved in the vandalism and theft of transformer cables.

The suspects, identified as ex-convict Eze Sunday, alongside Eze Charles and Jamilu Danjuma, were arrested following a coordinated operation in Idiroko, Ipokia Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that the suspects were arrested on Sunday, May 26, at about 5:30 am by the patrol team of the security outfit led by Chief Superintendent of Corps, Abdulkareem Abdulrazaq.

In a statement released on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, by the State Commander of the Corps, Soji Ganzallo and signed by Moruf Yusuf, the Director of Information and Public Relations of the Ogun State-owned security agency.

“The suspects, Eze Sunday, an ex-convict, Eze John Charles, and Jamilu Danjuma, confessed to the crime and mentioned the third suspect as the receiver of the stolen items.

“The suspects and the recovered exhibits, including burnt and separated copper wires, have been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Idiroko Divisional Headquarters for further investigation and likely prosecution.

“This arrest is a testament to the corps’ commitment to tackling vandalism and theft in the state. We will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of Ogun State citizens.”
