Six Killed, Scores Injured In Bombing Suicide Attack At Social Gathering In Borno

Another bomber who disguised as a mourner, has detonated another explosive device in Gwoza LGA

Maiduguri, Borno State– At least six persons were killed and many others injured in a bomb attack at a social gathering in  Mararanba, Gwoza town, Borno State.

It was gathered that the bomber, who was later identified as a young lady in her early twenties, detonated her explosive device in the middle of the gathering, causing chaos and destruction.

Zagazola Makama, a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert known by his handle X, revealed that the victims, all civilians, were returning from a wedding celebration when they were attacked near a bustling motor park.

He explained that Emergency services rushed to the scene to rescue those injured and transport them to the hospitals in Gwoza.

According to him, “Medical personnel in the hospital said at least six people were killed while 15 others were injured in the attack.

He, however, said that  Yusuf Lawal, Borno Commissioner of Police, confirmed the incident.

Meanwhile, another bomber who disguised as a mourner, has detonated another explosive device in Gwoza LGA as the people were preparing for the funeral of the victims killed in an attack a few hours ago.

He mentioned that the victims, who were all civilians, were gathered to pay their respects to the deceased when the attack occurred. At least one additional person died while 16 others were injured and rushed to the hospital.

However,  a curfew has been announced in Gwoza by the military to enable them to sensitise the town from any further threat.
