Senate 2023: Saliu Mustapha Preaches Peace Ahead of APC Primaries
He pleaded that their unalloyed support is necessary for his emergence as the party’s candidate at the primaries.
A leading aspirant vying for the Kwara Central senatorial seat under the All Progressive Congress, APC has called for peace among the APC supporters from Ilorin East ahead of the party’s forthcoming senate primaries slated for Saturday, May 28, 2022.
The Turaki of Ilorin, while addressing his supporters at a political meeting, on Wednesday, noted that there is no cause for any acrimony or bickering among the APC senate aspirants from Ilorin-east since they are brothers from one home jostling for the same ticket under the auspices of the same party.
The philanthropist further advanced that he and Abdulfatai Yahya Seriki who are from Ilorin-east are both for the betterment of the Ilorin and Kwara Central by extension, stating that any unnecessary rancour between the two of them may cost the zone the unprecedented opportunity to represent Kwara Central in the Red Chamber come 2023.

He, however, told his supporters that the gathering is not meant for electioneering campaign but a family meeting to promote peace and support whoever emerges through the primaries as the party’s candidate in the general elections next year.
He pleaded that their unalloyed support is necessary for his emergence as the party’s candidate at the primaries.
Recall that Mallam Saliu Mustapha during a meeting with Ilorin West APC supporters earlier on Tuesday revealed that the contest for APC Kwara Central Senatorial ticket is not a do-or-die affair, noting that it is an in-house contest for the development of Kwara Central Senatorial district.

Commenting on the lawmaker representing Kwara Central in the 9th National Assembly, Dr. Ibrahim Yahya Oloriegbe the Turaki of Ilorin said Oloriegbe has performed excellently as representative of kwara Central populace but he intends to outdo Oloriegbe in bringing more dividends of democracy to his constituency when finally elected to represent the district in the 10th Senate come 2023.
The former Deputy National Chairman of the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, CPC noted that democracy is all about political balancing as all the four Local Government Areas constituting the Ilorin Emirate must be represented in various elective positions at both federal and state levels without any form of political marginalisation so that opposition party would take advantage of such anomalies in the forthcoming general elections.
