Ilorin,  Kwara State– The Sarkin Gobir and Madawaki of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, has congratulated the Kwara State Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr. Lawal Olohungbe (popularly known as Olorungbebe), on his emergence as Chairman of the Forum of Education Commissioners in Nigeria.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, Gobir described Olorungbebe’s new national position as a “well-deserved honour” that reflects the commissioner’s “visionary, disciplined and innovative leadership in repositioning education in Kwara State.”

He noted that under Olorungbebe’s stewardship, Kwara has continued to gain national visibility for reforms in public schools, enhanced human capital development, and policy initiatives aimed at improving learning outcomes across the state.

“Dr. Olohungbe’s dedication to transforming education in Kwara is evident. His emergence as chairman will not only benefit the state but will bring fresh ideas and impactful leadership to the entire country,” Gobir said.

The traditional leader expressed confidence that Olorungbebe would excel in his expanded role and wished him success as he takes on the responsibility of coordinating education commissioners across the country.

He added that the appointment is a proud moment for Kwara and a call to deepen the reforms already underway in the state.
