Sarkin Gobir Celebrates Veteran Journalist Modibbo Kawu At 65

Ilorin, Kwara State- The Sarkin Gobir and Madawaki of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, has joined family, friends, associates, and the media community in celebrating veteran journalist, Dr. Ishaq Modibbo Kawu, on his 65th birthday, marked on September 5, 2025.

In a goodwill message, Alhaji Gobir praised Dr. Kawu — who is also an in-law to the Gobirawa — for his unwavering contributions to nation-building, reflections on governance, and consistent advocacy for collective progress.

He also lauded Dr. Kawu’s passion for mentoring the younger generation, noting that his influence on journalism and public discourse continues to shape minds across Nigeria.

“Dr. Modibbo Kawu has shown uncommon dedication to the growth of our country through his writings, mentorship, and advocacy. His voice has remained a compass for good governance and a better society.

“I pray to Almighty Allah to bless him with long life, good health, and enduring happiness,” Gobir added.
