Sanwo-Olu, Gbajabiamila, Dangote Among Nominees As Eko Mi Awards Returns With ‘Eko Best 11’ Edition

Ikeja, Lagos State — Anticipation is building as the second edition of the prestigious Eko Mi Awards gears up to celebrate outstanding individuals and organisations contributing to the growth and development of Lagos State.
Slated for Thursday, June 19, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Ikeja GRA, this year’s edition, themed ‘Eko Best 11’, will spotlight 11 distinguished Nigerians whose leadership, innovation, and impact have powered the pulse of Lagos.
Among those nominated for the honours are prominent figures including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his deputy Obafemi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Africa’s richest man Aliko Dangote, business moguls Tony Elumelu, Jim Ovia, Femi Otedola, and other influential personalities such as Ibukun Awosika, Leo Stan Ekeh, Cosmas Maduka, and respected clergy like Pastors Tony Rapu, Sam Adeyemi, and Chris Oyakhilome.
Speaking on the forthcoming event, Otunba Bestman Nze Jumbo, CEO of Image Expression, the publisher of Eko Mi, Eko E Newspaper, and convener of the awards, emphasized the event’s deeper purpose.
“This edition isn’t just another awards night,” he said.
“It’s a salute to legacy, leadership, and the relentless Lagos spirit. We’re celebrating pioneers, disruptors, and legends who have redefined what is possible in Lagos.”
According to Nze Jumbo, the Eko Best 11 will not only reflect influence but also resilience and vision across sectors such as governance, business, technology, and social impact.
