Ramadan: Senator Saliu Mustapha Urges Muslims To Pray For Peace, Unity, Amid Socio-Economic Challenges

Ilorin, Kwara State– Senator Saliu Mustapha, representing Kwara Central Senatorial District has urged the Muslim Ummah to stress messages of peace, love and National unity as the Holy Month of Ramadan begins across the Islamic world.

The senator urged citizens to come together and offer prayers for the nation’s prosperity and progress.

In a statement made available to journalists in Ilorin on Monday, Senator Mustapha expressed his felicitations to Kwara Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq; the Amir-l-Muminin, HRH Dr. Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, the Emir of Ilorin; and all political, community and religious stakeholders across Kwara State.

“As we embark on this sacred journey of fasting and prayer, let us also strengthen the bonds of brotherhood and community within our state,” said Senator Mustapha.

According to Mustapha; “Ramadan is more than just a period of fasting; it’s a time deeply rooted in our cultural practices, fostering a powerful sense of unity within our community.”

He emphasized the significance of Iftar, the evening meal to break the fast, as a moment that brings people together, reinforcing the shared traditions and values.

The senator applauded Ilorin Emirate for its exemplary demonstration of Ramadan’s essence through communal prayers, shared meals, and acts of charity.

“Our heritage-rich state, Kwara, exemplifies this beautifully during Ramadan. From communal prayers to shared meals and acts of charity, these expressions of kindness and unity are the essence of this holy month,” he remarked.

“Let us use this opportunity to offer fervent prayers for our leaders throughout the nation and for our beloved state. May Allah grant them the wisdom and guidance to navigate the challenges we face,” he said.
