Police Smash Fake Dollar Syndicate, Arrest 12 Suspects In Gombe
The police recovered 563 pieces of counterfeit 100-doll bills and N265,000 from the suspects.
Gombe State– Operatives of the Gombe State Police Command have dismantled a notorious fake dollar syndicate operating within the state and arrested 12 suspects.
The Spokesperson of the command, ASP Mahid Abubakar, who disclosed this on Thursday, February 1, 2024, said that the suspects allegedly specialized in printing and disposing of the currency suspected to be counterfeit.
He said operatives of the command acting on credible intelligence arrested the suspects between Bajoga and Dukku axis, respectively.
Abubakar added that the police recovered 563 pieces of counterfeit 100-doll bills and N265,000 from the suspects.
He, however, said that the suspects will be charged to court on completion of investigation.
He urged residents of the state to be more vigilant and report suspicious persons and activities to security agencies.
