Police Confirm Terrorists Stormed Kwara Community, Kidnapped 10 Residents

Ilorin,  Kwara State- The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed that terrorists invaded Isapa community in the state’s Ekiti Local Government Area, abducting 10 residents during a violent attack on Monday evening.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the armed men stormed Isapa around 6:05 p.m., firing shots indiscriminately and causing panic among villagers.

Police said a woman who sustained a gunshot wound to her leg has been treated and discharged.

The Command noted that distress calls from residents prompted the deployment of patrol units and tactical teams, who moved into the community to repel the attackers.

However, officers later confirmed that 10 residents were seized and taken into the surrounding forests.

The statement read, “Preliminary findings revealed that at about 1805hrs, a group of armed men suspected to be herders invaded the village shooting sporadically. As a result, a woman sustained gunshot wound to her leg; she has since been treated and discharged.

‎”Further details from police operatives discovered that 10 persons were later abducted.

‎”In response to the gravity of the situation, the Commissioner of Police, Kwara State Command, CP Adekimi Ojo, psc mnips, visited Isapa community for an on-the-spot assessment.”

She said, “During the visit, the CP met with Traditional Rulers, the Onisapa of Isapa Land, Oba Gbenga Adeyeye and Olokesa of Okesa Land, Oba Olu Fagbamila Raphael Olusegun, local and youth leaders; to assure residents of intensified operational efforts to rescue the victims safely and restore confidence in the area.

‎”A search-and-rescue operation is currently underway, involving police tactical teams and local vigilante groups, who are combing the surrounding bushes with the objective of rescuing the victims and apprehending the culprits.

‎”Normalcy has been restored in the village, and the situation remains under strict monitoring.”

‎Afrika Eyes had earlier reported that terrorists invaded Isapa community on Monday evening, abducting at least 11 residents, including a pregnant woman, two nursing mothers and several children in  Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State.

Afrika Eyes  gathered that Isapa lies close to Eruku, another community that has faced repeated security threats in recent months.

According to National Pilot, the attack occurred around 6:00 p.m. on November 24, 2025, when between 20 and 30 armed bandits stormed the town with a large herd of cattle.

The gunmen reportedly fired sporadically as they advanced, forcing residents to flee for safety. An elderly woman was struck by a stray bullet during the assault.

A community leader who confirmed the incident said 11 persons were taken away, with seven abducted from the same family.

The victims have been identified as: Talatu Kabiru, Magaji, Kande, Hadiza, Mariam, Saima, Habibat (a housewife), Fatima Yusufu (also a housewife), and a pregnant woman, Sarah Sunday. Others include a nursing mother, Lami Fidelis, and Haja Na Allah.
