Police Arrest Six Federal University Lokoja Students Over Assault Of Colleague In Kogi

The suspects—identified as Inajo Henry, Nzekwe Victor, Lucky Victor, Lucky Gambo, Paul David, and a 17-year-old minor—were apprehended for offences bordering on criminal force, defamation, assault, and cyberstalking.

Lokoja,  Kogi State– The Kogi State Police Command has arrested six students of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) over the alleged bullying, assault, and humiliation of a fellow student, Oladosu Sunday, in a disturbing incident linked to accusations of homosexuality.

The suspects—identified as Inajo Henry, Nzekwe Victor, Lucky Victor, Lucky Gambo, Paul David, and a 17-year-old minor—were apprehended for offences bordering on criminal force, defamation, assault, and cyberstalking.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Saliu Oyiza Afusat, the incident occurred on March 29, 2026, when the victim was allegedly lured to an apartment near the Living Faith Church area in Felele, Lokoja.

Police authorities revealed that the attackers confined the victim, forcibly stripped him, and physically assaulted him while recording the abuse.

The footage was subsequently circulated online, sparking outrage after it went viral within the university community.

Afusat disclosed that the suspects, during interrogation, admitted that the act was premeditated and driven by mere suspicion, with no verified evidence to support their claims.

“Their actions were deliberate and based solely on unverified assumptions,” the police spokesperson stated.

The Command confirmed that investigations have been concluded and the suspects have since been arraigned before a court of competent jurisdiction.

Condemning the act, the police described it as a form of jungle justice and cyberbullying, warning that such conduct would not be tolerated.

The Command further urged youths and students to desist from taking laws into their own hands and instead seek lawful avenues to address grievances.

Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Naziru Bello Kankarofi, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding the rights and dignity of all citizens, stressing that perpetrators of violence and abuse would face the full weight of the law.
