Police Arrest Man For Stabbing Friend To Death, Stealing Motorcycle

The suspect also stole the deceased’s motorcycle and 20,000 Naira in cash.

Yola, Adamawa State– Operatives of  the Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly stabbing his close friend Usman to death and robbing him of his motorcycle and Twenty Thousand Naira (₦20,000).

The suspect, Yahaya Balarabe, a resident of Dage Village in Ganye Local Government Area, is alleged to have accompanied the victim to his farm under the pretense of offering help with spraying chemicals

It was gathered that the suspect brutally attacked and killed Usman by stabbing him with a sharp cutlass on the head. He then threw the dead body into a gutter.

Confirming the suspect’s arrest, the spokesperson for the command, SP Abdullahi Nguroje, stated that the suspect also stole the deceased’s motorcycle and 20,000 Naira in cash.

Nguroje said that the suspect was apprehended following the report received from the late Usman’s family members and the recovery of material evidence at the scene of the crime which was linked to him.

‘’Interestingly, the suspect voluntarily made a confessional statement Committing the Crime, adding that he was only interested in taking possession of the deceased’s motorcycle and money.”

“The state Commissioner of Police CP Dankombo Morris, while expressing disappointment over the unfortunate incident, commended the Operatives of Ganye Divisional police Headquarters for detecting, arresting and making it impossible for the Suspect to escape Justice.

“Meanwhile, as part of the command’s effort to tackle Criminal activities and other related offences in the state, the CP has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of CID to take over the investigation and ensure the law takes its course,” he added.
