The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel, confirmed this while addressing newsmen about the arrest of some criminal suspects on Wednesday at the command’s headquarters, Lafia.

Nansel said the 35-year-old suspect was arrested for burglary in Karu Local Government Area of the state.

He said he was awaiting trial when the facility was broken into by the terrorists who freed him and others.

“I was awaiting trial when one night I heard a gun shot and before I knew it some people believed to be terrorists broke into the prison, forcing all inmates out of the prison and this is how I escaped from Kuje prison,” he explained.

The image maker reiterated the command’s resolve to curb crime in the state and called for the cooperation of the public in order to succeed.
