Ondo Man Arrested For Allegedly Killing 65-Year-Old Woman Over N3,000
In a fit of rage, he reportedly struck her on the head twice with a plank
Akure, Ondo State – A 20-year-old man, Friday Akinmade, has been arrested by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun, for the alleged murder of a 65-year-old woman in Owo, the headquarters of the Owo Local Government Area.
The incident occurred when Akinmade accused the elderly woman of stealing N3,000 from him.
In a fit of rage, he reportedly struck her on the head twice with a plank.
During an interview with journalists at the Amotekun headquarters in Akure on Tuesday, Akinmade confessed to the act, expressing remorse over the unintended consequences of his actions, as he did not anticipate that the blows would prove fatal.
The suspect claimed that when he confronted the deceased about the theft allegation, she fled the scene.
Akogun Adetunji Adeleye, the Commander of the Amotekun Corps, presented the suspect alongside 26 others implicated in various crimes, including kidnapping, theft, and burglary.
“Akinmade Friday has been charged with the murder of a 65-year-old woman. This individual is just 20 years old,” Adeleye added.
