Ondo Farmer Who Declared ‘100% Commitment’ To Tinubu’s Reelection Kidnapped, Family Begs Public For ₦100m Ransom
Kayode, described by acquaintances as a popular farmer and an outspoken supporter of the president on Facebook, was abducted on Monday while working on his farm.
Akure, Ondo State– A farmer from Ondo State, Joseph Kayode, who recently declared his unwavering support for the reelection of Nigeria’s president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has been reportedly kidnapped by unknown gunmen.
Kayode, described by acquaintances as a popular farmer and an outspoken supporter of the president on Facebook, was abducted on Monday while working on his farm.
His abduction has stirred concern among friends and followers on social media, particularly after an earlier post in which he openly pledged loyalty to the Nigerian leader.
On February 15, 2026, Kayode had written on his Facebook page: “I am 100% committed to the reelection of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR.”
However, days after the public declaration, his family says he has fallen victim to the worsening wave of kidnappings affecting many parts of the country.
In a desperate appeal, the family is now calling on members of the public to help raise ₦100 million demanded by the abductors to secure his release.
Relatives say the kidnappers contacted them shortly after the abduction and insisted that the ransom must be paid before Kayode can regain his freedom.
Kidnapping for ransom has become increasingly common in several parts of Nigeria, with farmers and rural residents among the most vulnerable targets due to the remote nature of their work locations.
