Nnamdi Kanu Apologises For Attacks On Judge, Lawyers, FG Counsel
Kanu, through his new lead counsel and former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, extended his apology during a court session on Friday.
Abuja, Nigeria – Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has publicly apologised for his recent verbal attacks on the Federal High Court, Justice Binta Nyako, and other legal practitioners involved in his case.
Kanu, through his new lead counsel and former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Chief Kanu Agabi, SAN, extended his apology during a court session on Friday.
He also expressed regret over his remarks directed at the Federal Government’s lawyer, Chief Awomolo, SAN, and his former legal team led by Aloy Ejimakor.
The apology was delivered before Justice James Omotosho, the new trial judge handling the case.
Chief Agabi, addressing the court, stated that he had earlier conferred with the prosecution’s legal team regarding Kanu’s message of contrition.
Justice Omotosho subsequently permitted him to present the statement.
However, Kanu’s gesture comes amid his ongoing legal battle with the Federal Government, as he seeks a resolution to the charges against him.
