Ilorin, Kwara State — Senator Saliu Mustapha, who represents Kwara Central Senatorial District, has been inducted into the Roll of Honours of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Ilorin Branch, in recognition of his contributions to governance, public service and the promotion of justice.
The induction ceremony took place on Saturday in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, during a dinner organised in the senator’s honour by the NBA.
Mr Mustapha was admitted into the prestigious Roll of Honours, an exclusive list that includes former Kwara State Governor Muhammed Lawal, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and the late former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Abdulkareem Adisa.
Speaking at the event, the senator described the honour as humbling, saying it carried with it a greater responsibility to support the rule of law and strengthen justice delivery in Nigeria.
“This recognition by the Nigerian Bar Association is deeply humbling. To be inducted into a Roll that includes eminent Nigerians who served this country with distinction is both an honour and a call to greater service,” he said.
Mr Mustapha assured members of the legal profession of his continued support for legal and institutional reforms, particularly legislations aimed at improving access to justice and addressing national security challenges.
“I remain committed to supporting policies and legislations that enhance the administration of justice and promote peace and security across our country,” the senator added.
He also commended the Ilorin Branch of the NBA for what he described as its consistency and courage in the pursuit of justice and the defence of the rule of law.
“The Ilorin Bar has distinguished itself through professionalism, courage and an unwavering commitment to the rule of law. I sincerely thank you for this rare honour,” he said.
Several senior lawyers and prominent members of the legal community attended the event, including Mallam Yusuf Ali, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN); Mrs Ronke Adeyemi; Mr K. K. Eleja, SAN; Mr AbdulRazak Gold, SAN; and Mr Taiye Oniyide, SAN, among others.
In separate remarks, speakers at the event praised Senator Mustapha’s legislative work and engagement with the legal community, describing his induction into the NBA Roll of Honours as well deserved.
