Nationwide Broadcast: Tinubu Hears Dangote’s Plea In A Day But Fails To Implement Nigerians’ Demands After A Year, By Buhari Olanrewaju Ahmed

Many families have reportedly sold their children due to the country’s economic situation, as they are unable to meet their responsibilities.

President Bola Tinubu is a wicked leader who shows no sympathy for the suffering of ordinary citizens. Despite the widespread hunger and violence, he ignores their pleas and exacerbates their plight by using security forces to further oppress and harm people.

Tinubu’s speech revealed the kind of person he is. He failed to address the concerns of people suffering from hunger, the high cost of living, and the devaluation of Nigeria’s currency, which has skyrocketed the price of all commodities in the country.

The President has never shown empathy or sympathy towards the plight of oppressed citizens who have been living from hand to mouth and have now turned into street beggars.

In a country where the president seems only concerned with attending to a select few who have directly or indirectly caused significant damage to the economy, last week Aliko Dangote expressed his frustration. He claimed that some individuals were sabotaging his efforts by not selling crude oil to him.

Dangote protested through the media and social media. Immediately, the National Assembly and some stakeholders swung into action and met with President Tinubu to address the issue. Surprisingly, within two days, the president ordered the NNPC to sell crude oil to the Dangote refinery in naira currency and to provide him with adequate support in all aspects.

Meanwhile, Nigerians have been expressing their discontent since the day Tinubu assumed office, when he announced the removal of the fuel subsidy in his inaugural speech.

Tinubu has caused more damage, destruction, and division to Nigeria’s system than his predecessor did.

People are unable to farm due to fear of the unknown. Hunger has driven many to lose their integrity, turning to street begging for survival.

Many families have reportedly sold their children due to the country’s economic situation, as they are unable to meet their responsibilities.

Hundreds of people have died because they cannot afford medical bills, leading to the deterioration of their conditions. Meanwhile, political, religious, and traditional leaders are attempting to silence the oppressed and prevent them from exercising their civic rights to protest against issues affecting them, even though the president failed to address their demands in his inadequate speech.

High living costs, inflation, the reversal of the fuel subsidy, unemployment, insecurity, and corruption are the main issues the protesters are raising, hoping that Tinubu will address them today. However, as someone who has run out of ideas and failed to address these issues, he has instead threatened the protesters who voted for him. This reflects his lack of empathy.

Tinubu should understand that the sons and daughters of the marginalized, whose voices are often ignored, may become the very people they will later rely on if the situation escalates.

When politicians siphon public funds, it is not labeled as looting. However, when poor citizens converge on places where palliatives are hoarded, opportunists like President Tinubu and his sycophants label it as looting.

What is happening in Nigeria right now reflects a massive failure of the government, which has deliberately impoverished the people and rendered them helpless.

While we totally condemn the killing of innocent people in the country, we question why security operatives, who are supposed to protect peaceful protesters, would turn against them with live bullets. Those responsible for the killing of these peaceful protesters should be arrested and prosecuted. Otherwise, there is a risk of public revolt and the suppression of power by the people.

President Tinubu has suddenly become deaf and blind to the peaceful demands of citizens seeking basic necessities that affect their lives and businesses.

Instead of listening and responding swiftly to their demands, he has chosen to ignore them and is now attempting to deploy the military and Nigerian police to kill anyone henceforth.

Tinubu, who claimed to be a democrat, has now shown his true colors. Despite asserting that he built Lagos from scratch, he has severely damaged the country since assuming power.

The citizens are neither enemies nor security threats to the country as long as they remain within its borders while demanding their rights.

If the president refuses to listen to and act on the demands of the protesters, there may come a time when the people become deaf and blind to the government’s actions, especially if the killings and intimidation persist.

History will hold Tinubu, his children, grandchildren, and future generations accountable if anything happens to the protesters, as he has refused to listen to their cries and demands. Karma is inevitable.
