NAFDAC Seizes Counterfeit Wines Worth N41.2 Million In Nasarawa

The crackdown resulted in the seizure of products valued at over N41.2 million.

Lafia, Nasarawa State– The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has carried out a  raid on wine shops in Mararaba Market, New Nyanya, and Masaka areas of Nasarawa State.

The agency revealed that the operation focused on targeting counterfeit and adulterated wines and spirits.

The crackdown resulted in the seizure of products valued at over N41.2 million.

In a statement issued on Monday, NAFDAC confirmed that the raid targeted the sale of substandard alcoholic beverages in the state.

The statement said its Investigation & Enforcement team is actively investigating the importers or manufacturers behind these counterfeit drinks.

The agency, however, urged consumers to remain vigilant and report suspicious products to the nearest NAFDAC office for immediate action.
