Mother, Baby, APC Leader Killed In Ondo Cult Clash

Akure, Ondo State – A woman, her infant child, a prominent All Progressives Congress (APC) leader, and one other person have reportedly been killed in a violent clash between suspected rival cult groups in Owo, the headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

It was gathered that the incident occurred on Monday, claimed the life of APC leader Fisayo Oladipo, popularly known as “Fissey Ehin Ogbe,” who was allegedly shot during the clash.

However, tragedy also struck when the mother and her baby were hit by stray bullets, sparking outrage among residents.

The remains of the victims have been deposited at the morgue of the Federal Medical Centre in Owo.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command,  Funmilayo Odunlami, disclosed that police operatives had been deployed to restore peace in the area.

Investigations are ongoing to apprehend those responsible for the deadly clash.

“Four people have been coconfirme dead but normalcy has returned through the intervention of the police and efforts are on to arrest the perpetrators of the act,” she added.
