The Defence Headquarters says the air component of Operation Forest Sanity has eliminated scores of bandits in an air attack on a notorious bandits’ kingpin, Bello Turji in Zamfara forest.
According to a defence intelligence source, the NAF jets released their missiles at the Fakai area, believed to be the residence of the notorious bandits’ kingpin, Turji.
It was learnt that the bandits were neutralized during a ‘surprise raid’ by the air troops of Operation Forest Sanity in Zamfara State.
The surprise attack of the military troops was carried out by two Nigerian Air Force, NAF, fighter jets following credible intelligence.
“As at the moment, we can’t give the actual casualty figure,” the source said.
