Man Arrested For Allegedly Defiling 6-Year-Old Daughter In Akwa Ibom
The victim said that someone had touched her during the night, but she was unable to identify the person responsible as she hadn’t seen them
Akwa Ibom State Police have arrested a suspect identified as one Sunday Michael Ben for allegedly accused of raping his six-year-old daughter.
The State Police Commissioner, CP Olatoye Durosinmi, on Wednesday, August 29, 2023, paraded the suspect along with several others at the police headquarters in Ikot Akpanabia, Uyo.
While being questioned, the suspect firmly refuted the accusation
“I had my daughter with me in the house, and that night, I woke up to fix my heater that was bad because there was light. I didn’t touch her. I believe my girlfriend, who was with me in the house, committed the act. I only noticed in the morning that she had bloodstains on her leg,” he said.
From her perspective, the victim said that someone had touched her during the night, but she was unable to identify the person responsible as she hadn’t seen them, rendering her unable to provide further details.
The Commissioner confirmed that once the investigation is concluded, the suspect will be formally charged in court.
