The petition stated that the deceased teacher was “a peaceful and diligent teacher” whose life was “cruelly and violently cut short.

Abuja, Nigeria– Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has written to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, demanding urgent intervention over the kidnapping, brutal murder and alleged beheading of Late Mr. Oyedokun Michael Olugbade, one of the teachers abducted by suspected terrorists from Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle, in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State.

In a petition addressed to President Tinubu and signed on behalf of the Oyedokun family, the lawyers described the killing as “heartbreaking and inhumane,” while expressing fears that several other victims abducted during the same attack are still being held in captivity under life-threatening conditions.

According to the petition, the attack occurred on May 15, 2026, when suspected terrorists reportedly stormed Community High School, Ahoro-Esinle, and abducted teachers, including the late Oyedokun Michael Olugbade.

The petition stated that the deceased teacher was “a peaceful and diligent teacher” whose life was “cruelly and violently cut short.”

The lawyers told the President that the slain teacher is survived by his wife and two sons, who have allegedly been left traumatised by the gruesome manner of his death.

“Despite widespread national reports regarding the death of the late Mr. Oyedokun Michael Olugbade, his remains are yet to be seen or recovered.”

The lawyers appealed to President Tinubu to direct security and intelligence agencies to intensify efforts toward locating the remains of the deceased teacher and rescuing the remaining abductees.

The petition also urged the President not to leave the matter entirely in the hands of government representatives, but to personally visit the affected families as a show of solidarity and commitment.

“Your presence would offer reassurance that the government stands firmly with them in their grief and shows government commitment to rescuing the remaining abducted victims.”

The lawyer stressed that the federal government must ensure that the perpetrators behind the attack are identified, arrested and prosecuted.

“In light of the foregoing, we respectfully call on Your Excellency to treat this matter with the utmost urgency and seriousness it deserves, and to ensure that all necessary steps are taken to recover the remains of Late Mr. Oyedokun Michael Olugbade, rescue the remaining victims and bring the perpetrators of this heinous crime to justice,” the petition stated.
