Kwara South Stakeholders Rally Behind Yahaya Seriki, Endorse Him For 2027 Governorship Race
The stakeholders noted that their endorsement followed extensive consultations across the senatorial district, insisting that continuity in governance remains critical to preserving and advancing the developmental gains
Ilorin, Kwara State– A coalition of political leaders, community influencers, and stakeholders from Kwara South has officially endorsed Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki Gambari, MFR, as their preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election, declaring him the most viable figure to secure victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement released on Thursday by the Kwara South Stakeholders Media and Publicity team, the group expressed unwavering confidence in Yahaya Seriki’s leadership credentials, political experience, and grassroots connection, describing him as a “dependable and capable leader” with the capacity to unify the state and consolidate on existing achievements.
The stakeholders noted that their endorsement followed extensive consultations across the senatorial district, insisting that continuity in governance remains critical to preserving and advancing the developmental gains recorded under the current administration of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.
According to the statement, “Kwara South stakeholders have carefully assessed the political landscape and have unanimously thrown their weight behind Amb. Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki Gambari, MFR, as the leading candidate capable of securing victory for the APC in the 2027 gubernatorial election.”
They further emphasised that Yahaya Seriki’s leadership style—anchored on inclusiveness, accessibility, and respect for traditional institutions—sets him apart in a crowded political field.
“He is a leader who listens. He maintains a close connection with the people, respects community voices, and consistently seeks guidance from elders. These rare attributes distinguish him and position him as a unifying figure capable of leading Kwara State toward greater growth and stability,” they added.
The group also linked their endorsement to the need for policy continuity, warning that any disruption in governance could reverse the progress made in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development under Governor Abdulrazaq.
“We believe strongly that continuity in governance is essential to preserving the progress achieved across the state. Yahaya Seriki represents that bridge between the present gains and a more prosperous future,” they said.
However, the stakeholders offered prayers for the continued success of the state’s leadership and its future trajectory.
