Kwara Residents Rally Behind Yahaya Seriki As AbdulRazaq’s Preferred Successor

Ilorin, Kwara State– Thousands of residents across several constituencies in Kwara State on Thursday trooped out in large numbers to declare support for Ambassador Abdulfatai Yahaya Seriki MFR, widely regarded as the preferred successor to Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq ahead of the 2027 governorship race.
The massive show of support was witnessed in different parts of the state as enthusiastic supporters, party loyalists, youth groups and community stakeholders openly endorsed the prominent APC chieftain for the state’s top seat.
Chanting solidarity songs and carrying banners bearing his image, supporters described Yahaya Seriki as a grassroots politician with a strong connection to the people and a track record of philanthropy, empowerment and loyalty to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Many of the supporters said the overwhelming turnout across constituencies reflected the growing popularity and acceptance of the APC gubernatorial aspirant among party members and ordinary citizens.
Another party loyalist described the development as a clear indication that Kwarans were ready to sustain the current APC leadership structure in the state through Yahaya Seriki’s emergence.
The supporters also praised Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq for his developmental strides across the state, insisting that Yahaya Seriki possesses the experience, political reach and leadership capacity to consolidate on the administration’s achievements.
Residents in the state believe the growing endorsements may further strengthen Yahaya Seriki’s standing within the APC as consultations and alignments ahead of the next governorship election continue to gather momentum.
