Kwara Police Confirm Murder Of Retired Works Controller In Ilorin

Ilorin, Kwara State– The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed the brutal murder of AbdulRazaq Ajani, a retired controller of works at the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, on New Year’s Day in Ilorin.

It was gathered that the incident occurred at about 3 p.m. at Dele Gege Street, off Awolowo Road, in the Tanke area of the state capital.

It was learnt that Mr Ajani had just returned home with his wife and children from a trip to his hometown, Offa, when four young men entered his compound moments after he drove in.

However, the attackers used what appeared to be small axes to hack Mr Ajani to death while his immediate family watched in horror.

The spokesperson for the Kwara State Police Command, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, confirmed the killing on Friday, stated, “No arrests have been made at this time. Our detectives are working tirelessly to unravel the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.”

“Meanwhile the Kwara Police Command commensurates with the entire family of the Ajani’s; we pray that God Almighty consoles and comfort members of the family left behind, we pray for the repose of the soul of their beloved father (Ajani Adeyemo) Amen.

“The Kwara Police Command assures the family that those involved in this dastardly act will be made to face the full wrath of the law,” she said.

“Further updates will be communicated as investigation progresses,” Ejire-Adeyemi added.
