Kwara Central 2023: Sen. Oloriegbe Accepts Defeat, Hails Mustapha’s Emergence As APC Candidate
Mr Mustapha, a top scribe of the party, won by a landslide after he garnered 136 votes while Yahaya Seriki followed with 77 votes and Oloriegbe came third with 15 votes.
The Senator representing Kwara Central at the National Assembly, Dr Ibrahim Oloriegbe has accepted the outcome of the All Progressives Congress’s Kwara Central Senatorial Primary election, which was won by Mallam Saliu Mustapha.
Mr Mustapha, a top scribe of the party, won by a landslide after he garnered 136 votes while Yahaya Seriki followed with 77 votes and Oloriegbe came third with 15 votes.
In his reaction, contained in a statement signed and made available to the press on Sunday, Oloriegbe accepted the outcome of the primaries as God’s will.
Mr Oloriegbe further congratulated Mustapha, offering him his best wish in the general election.
“Towards this end, I Congratulate my brother Mallam Saliu Mustapha on his victory and wish him success at the main election next year. I also Congratulate Amb Abdufatai Yahaya Seriki for being a team player. I thank the leader of the party in the state His Excellency Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq for his cooperation and support to me in the discharge of my duties. I thank the party leaders, elders and stalwarts for their cooperation and support and belief in what we are doing.”
“As a committed party man, I pledge to continue to provide my cooperation and support to the party.”
The lawmaker also assured his constituents of more purposeful representation that they will be proud of.
“I also pledge to my constituents to continue to discharge my legislative responsibilities diligently. I thank all my admirers and well wishers for their prayers and support.”
