Kwara 2023: Miyetti Allah Declare Support For Gobir
The entire Fulani community say we are giving you our support.
The aspiration of the Young Progressives Party YPP Governorship, Waziri Yakubu Gobir received a boost as six Fulani social-cultural associations under the aegis of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) across the 16 local government areas of the State endorsed his candidacy ahead of the March 11 election.
The groups which include; the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association led by Alhaji Abubakar Bello (Shakena) and the Dan-Allah Fulani Association led by Alhaji Yusuf Suleiman declared their support for the YPP Governorship Candidate on Thursday afternoon in Ilorin.
The Serkin Fulani of Kwara, Alhaji Aliu Dankawo, who was ably represented by his Deputy Alhaji Usman Goda (Serikin Fulani Bode-Sadu) received the YPP Governorship Candidate and his entourage during the campaign visit to the community in Zango area of Ilorin-South.
He said: “The Gobirs and Fulani have maintained an age-long close tie. You have also built on the existing foundation of your forebearers which has made the entire Fulani community say we are giving you our support. We know that people have different political opinions and rights to vote for the candidates of their choice, but, the majority of us have agreed to vote for you and all the YPP candidates across the 16 local government areas of the Kwara.”
The Secretary of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Mallam Muhammed Abdulazeez said “Fulani don’t deceive people — our yes is yes.”
He also commended the Aláànú Mẹ̀kúnnù Initiative by the candidate’s NGO, the Gobir Foundation Organization which he said is very impactful to the life of the Fulani community.
Abdulazeez nudged Gobir to look into the matter of insecurity and provide adequate security for them as they go about their legitimate means of livelihood when he gets to the office.
Gobir appreciated the Fulani community for their support and assures them of his continuous patronage and support when elected as Governor.
