Kwara 2023: Gobir’s Victory Is Certian- Ilorin West Stakeholders

The leading  Governorship Candidate under the auspices of the Young Progressive Congress (YPP), Alhaji Yakubu Gobir, on Saturday paid a homage visit and received a spiritual blessing for his aspiration from the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Alhaji Bashir Mohammed.

Gobir while he receives a shower of blessing in a special prayer organized by the members of the party at Sanni Okin Mosque in the Ilorin West Local Government area of the state.

It would be recalled that Gobir has been touring the state to meet the party stakeholders in all the 16 local governments for a familiarization visit.

Addressing the party members and supporters at Ilorin West local government where the Governorship candidate comes from.

“I’m here to assure you that we are not joining any party, meanwhile, our doors are open for anybody to join us, as you can see we are committed to transforming the state with big ideas.

“I earnestly implore all the party stakeholders in this local government not to relent, we should keep on with the membership drives and also persuade others to join YPP so that we can trump together, our victory in the 2023 election is certain.

“I also want you to reach out to our people on the other side, those who said nothing can push them out of APC, with those who claimed that how will a landlord Park out from the house he built for a tenant but later realized what we told them two years back that APC in Kwara state has failed and they have nothing to offer. I urged the party stakeholders to please work on them,” he said.

Mr Gobir noted that YPP has gained ground across the 16 local governments and no party can ever compete with YPP in Kwara State.

He said the 2023 election will be different from the 2019 election, that only the electorates will determine who to vote for, based on the candidate’s personality and a manifesto he has for the state.

He, however, urges all the members to get ready to protect their votes across all the 2,887 polling units in the state ahead of the 2023 general.

Earlier, the Ilorin West party chairman, Alhaji Yusuf Olugbon, described Gobir as a personality who had made an impact on the lives of people across the State without attaching any political correlation to it.

According to him, Gobir is the most preferred, honoured and qualified governorship candidate who can  take over the mantle of leadership in the state come 2023.”

No doubt, with Gobir, our party is surely destined for a big win in the next general elections,” he said.
