Katsina Police Repel Bandits’ Attack, Rescue Kidnapped Victim
Two terrorists were neutralised and one of their operational motorcycles was recovered.
Katsina Police Command on Sunday says it has repelled an attack by bandits rescuing one Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi-Tafashiya in Kankia Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.
The state police spokesperson, SP Gambo Isah, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday in Katsina.
According to Isah, the police command received a distress call that eleven terrorists were armed with AK-47 rifles on motorcycles.
They attacked the residence of one Alhaji Ibrahim Abdullahi-Tafashiya, aged 60, of Kankia LGA and abducted him to an unknown destination.
On receipt of the report, the DPO in that area led a tactical unit to the area and blocked the hoodlums at Juga village.
“The team engaged the hoodlums in a fierce gun duel and successfully repelled them. The kidnapped victim was rescued unhurt.
“In the course of scanning the scene, two terrorists were neutralised and one of their operational motorcycles was recovered. An investigation is ongoing.
