Kano State– The Kano State Hisbah Board has made headlines with the arrest of a young TikTok influencer, Hafsat Babu, following the emergence of a nude video that has sparked outrage in the state.
Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, the Commander-in-Chief of Hisbah, confirmed the arrest, highlighting Hafsat’s notoriety for sharing controversial content on the platform.
In a statement released on Monday morning, Sheikh Daurawa presented Hafsat alongside other detainees at the agency’s office, although he refrained from providing further details regarding the circumstances of their arrests.
The incident has ignited discussions on social media, particularly regarding the implications of such content in a conservative society like Kano.
Hafsat’s arrest follows backlash against her actions, with many calling for stricter regulations on social media content.
A video of TikTok personality Hafsat Baby in a compromising position has emerged, shortly after she posted a conversion video in which she announced the removal of her previous controversial content.
Her announcement followed guidance from Hisbah regarding her online activities.
In an audio message on TikTok, Hafsat Baby responded to the leaked nude video, stating it was recorded over two years ago. She expressed confusion about how the video resurfaced, claiming she had deleted it and never shared it with anyone.
