Ikeja, Lagos State — A routine Ibom Air flight from Uyo to Lagos descended into chaos on Sunday when a female passenger allegedly assaulted an air hostess mid-flight, then clashed with airport officials upon landing at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.

According to eyewitnesses, the altercation began in the cabin when the passenger struck a member of the flight crew during an apparent disagreement.

Upon arrival in Lagos, the confrontation spilled onto the tarmac, where security officials attempted to restrain her.

Viral video clips show the visibly agitated passenger shouting at and shoving airport staff before she was eventually bundled into an airport shuttle bus and taken away.

In response to the incident, the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) reiterated that while passengers have rights under Nigeria’s air travel regulations, they also have clear responsibilities, including the obligation to conduct themselves in a manner that does not endanger crew or fellow passengers.

The episode comes just days after popular Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM1), was handed a six-month flight ban following a separate in-flight altercation with ValueJet staff at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja — underscoring a recent spike in unruly passenger behaviour in Nigeria’s aviation sector.
