Gunmen Free Abducted Businessman After N10m Ransom In Kwara

Ilorin, Kwara State– Gunmen have reportedly released Igbo businessman Emeka Nwachukwu, who was kidnapped on Wednesday, following the payment of a N10 million ransom.
A source informed Afrika Eyes on Monday that Nwachukwu was freed on Sunday after his family met the ransom demand.
The release was later confirmed by the DPO in Kosubosu, who noted that efforts are underway to apprehend the kidnappers.
It would be recalled that Nwachukwu was abducted at his clinic in Kosubosu, Baruten Local Government Area, Kwara State, around 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, causing widespread fear in the community.
Meanwhile, on Thursday morning, the kidnappers contacted his family, initially demanding ₦100 million for his release.
The spokesperson for the state police command, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, she said, “Efforts are underway. Police officers have been mobilised to the bush to rescue the victims.”
