Gobir Community Expresses Gratitude For Historic Coronation Of 10th Sarkin Gobir Ilorin

The Gobir family stated their gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the ceremony, including those who sent goodwill messages.

Ilorin, Kwara State – The Gobir community in Ilorin Emirate has expressed deep appreciation to dignitaries, traditional rulers, and well-wishers who attended the coronation of the 10th Sarkin Gobir Ilorin, Alhaji Yakubu Abubakar Garba Gobir, on Friday, February 21, 2025.

In a statement released on Thursday by Prof. Iliyasu Gobir on behalf of the Gobir family, the community acknowledged the presence of key royal figures, government officials, and prominent personalities whose participation added prestige to the historic event.

“We were profoundly honored by His Royal Highness, Mai Martaba Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, the Emir of Ilorin, whose support and blessings added immense value to the occasion,” the statement read.

The community also recognized the presence of representatives from the Emir of Daura and the Emir of Katsina.

The appreciation extended to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State, represented by Dr. Alimi AbdulRazaq, and to the Deputy Governor of Sokoto State’s representative.

The community also acknowledged the support of Senator Ibrahim Abdullahi Gobir, as well as traditional rulers, clerics, and political leaders who attended.

“We are grateful for the presence of prominent figures, including legal luminaries, media executives, and political leaders, whose attendance reaffirmed the enduring strength of the Gobir legacy,” the statement continued.
