Fire Engulfs Divisional Police Office In Kano
The area has been cordoned off to prevent intrusion by onlookers and miscreants
Kano State– A fierce fire engulfed the premises of the Divisional Police Office in Nasarawa Local Government Area of Kano State in the early hours of Monday, caused substantial damage.
In a statement by the state Commissioner of Police, Hussaini Gumel, said the incident occurred at about 05.45 a.m. as a major part of the building was burned down completely despite prompt response by the State Fire Service.
Gumel said that an investigation was ongoing to unravel the cause of the fire.
‘’The area has been cordoned off to prevent intrusion by onlookers and miscreants, the arms and ammunition in the office are very safe.”
He added that the Divisional Police Officer is currently sorting out some of the affected documents,” he said.
