Abuja, Nigeria– Finidi George has resigned from his position as the head coach of the Nigerian national football team, the Super Eagles.
The news was reported moments ago through a statement by renowned sports news reporter Toyin Ibitoye on his X handle.
Finidi, a former Nigerian football star and part of the legendary 1994 Super Eagles squad that won the nation’s second African Cup of Nations title, assumed the role of head coach last month.
He resigned shortly after the NFF announced its hunt for a foreign Technical Adviser due to a disappointing performance in the WCQ.
The resignation of Finidi George has not yet been confirmed by either the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) or himself.
