Fear Grips Ondo Community As Police Deploy Operatives Over Discovery Of Two Bodies In Bush
The victims, identified as Loyinmi Bode and Andrew Friday, were reportedly found dead at different times over the past one month, sparking fear and tension across the agrarian settlement.
Akure, Ondo State- Residents of Akotogbo community in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State have been thrown into panic following the discovery of the bodies of two residents in separate bush locations within the community.
The victims, identified as Loyinmi Bode and Andrew Friday, were reportedly found dead at different times over the past one month, sparking fear and tension across the agrarian settlement.
The disturbing incidents have triggered growing concerns among residents, who are now calling on security agencies and the Ondo State Government to urgently intervene to prevent further killings and restore calm in the area.
Confirming the development on Wednesday, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, SP Abayomi Jimoh, said security operatives had already been deployed to Akotogbo and surrounding communities to maintain peace and reassure residents.
According to him, the police command remains committed to protecting lives and property across the state and would not relent in its efforts to ensure the safety of citizens.
Jimoh disclosed that additional security measures had been put in place to forestall any breakdown of law and order in the troubled community.
He added that investigations into the deaths were ongoing, noting that the police were intensifying efforts to uncover those behind the incidents and bring them to justice.
The killings have, however, heightened anxiety among locals, many of whom now fear for their safety amid uncertainty surrounding the circumstances of the deaths.
