FCT Police Nabs Fake DSS Impersonator, 306 Suspects In Major Operation
The police boss further cautions officers against extortion of residents and to adopt professionalism
Abuja, Nigeria– Operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Command have arrested one Ibrahim Tukur, who allegedly masqueraded himself as a Department of State Services (DSS) personnel.
While parading the suspects, the Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, on Monday said the newly launched operation Velvet raided a marked black spot, Gidan Dambe in Dei-Dei -Zuba axis and arrested three hundred and seven (307) suspects.
According to him, during the search, one English Pistol with fifteen (15) rounds of 9mm ammunition was recovered from one Ibrahim Tukur who claimed to be a DSS personnel.
“Other exhibits such as Motorcycles, wraps of marijuana, illicit substances, and valuables reasonably suspected to have been stolen from innocent residents were equally recovered.
CP Igweh said that the suspects are still undergoing screening.
Meanwhile, he used the opportunity to inform the public about Operation Velvet, which was launched on 10/02/2024, involving all Tactical teams within the Command to combat vehicular crimes and other offenses in the Territory.
