Father Of Nine Dies By Suicide Amid Alleged Marital Dispute In Delta
Despite attempts by Charles and mutual friends to mediate and reconcile their differences, his wife allegedly refused to return to the marriage.
Asaba, Delta State– A father of nine, identified only as Charles, has reportedly taken his own life over an alleged marital dispute in the Jeddo community of Okpe Local Government Area, Delta State.
It was gathered that the incident occurred on Monday, October 7, 2024, at about 3:30 p.m.
Charles is said to have ingested a poisonous substance, suspected to be sniper, at his home before making his way to his in-laws’ residence in Ugbokodo, where he succumbed shortly after.
Described as a dedicated member of the Jeddo Community Vigilance group, which plays a vital role in maintaining security in the area.
Reports suggest that his decision to end his life was linked to personal issues, including the recent departure of his wife following a heated argument.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Delta State Police Command, SP Bright Edafe, stated that he had not yet received official reports regarding the incident.
