Ex-Oyo Governor Rashidi Ladoja Crowned As Oba In Line For Olubadan Throne

Ibadan, Oyo State- High Chief Rashidi Ladoja, former Governor of Oyo State, has been crowned as an Oba, positioning him as a key contender for the esteemed Olubadan throne.

Ladoja, who governed Oyo State from 2003 to 2007, is also known for his role as the Otun Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The formal coronation took place on Monday at a brief ceremony held at the new Olubadan Palace in Oke Aremo, Ibadan. This follows his public acceptance of the role, announced during a live radio broadcast in Ibadan.

Since the announcement, Ladoja’s residence in Bodija has attracted numerous well-wishers, including prominent figures such as Governor Seyi Makinde, Asiwaju of Ibadanland Chief Bode Amao, Chief Bayo Oyero, Chief Wole Akinwande, Yemisi Adeaga, and Niyi.
