EFCC Detains 10 Officers Over Alleged Theft Of Operational Items In Lagos

Abuja, NigeriaThe Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested and detained 10 of its officers attached to the Lagos Zonal Command over allegations of theft.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the agency disclosed that the suspects are being held in connection with the disappearance of certain operational items, which they allegedly failed to account for.

The EFCC explained its commitment to upholding integrity and accountability within its ranks, noting that the detained officers are undergoing interrogation.

The agency reiterated its zero-tolerance policy for misconduct and assured the public of its resolve to maintain the highest ethical standards in the discharge of its duties.

The statement read,  “Officers, who were arrested last week on the directives of the Executive Chairman, Mr. Ola Olukoyede are answering questions related to the theft of some operational items that they could not account for.

“Investigators are making good progress and those found culpable will be subjected to internal disciplinary processes.”
