Court Grants Two-Week Bail To Former DCP, Abba Kyari For Mother’s Burial 

The former IRT boss was arrested on February 14, 2022, by the NDLEA.

Abuja, Nigeria – The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has approved a two-week bail for the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Abba Kyari, the former head of the Force Intelligence Response Team, after spending 27 months in detention.

The court said the two-week bail was to allow Kyari return home to conclude his mother’s burial rites.

The court has scheduled Friday, May 31st, as the date to decide on his bail application in the ongoing trial involving drug-related charges brought forth by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency.

The former IRT boss was arrested on February 14, 2022, by the NDLEA.
