BREAKING: Two Kidnap Victims Escape Bandits’ Hideout After Violent Clash Among Criminal Gang In Kwara 

Ilorin, Kwara State– Two abductees have escaped from a bandits’ hideout in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara South following a violent internal clash among members of the criminal gang, Afrika Eyes has learnt.

The escape occurred on Thursday after a dispute reportedly broke out among the bandits, creating confusion within the camp and providing an opportunity for the captives to flee.

According to local sources familiar with the development, the two victims managed to escape from the bandits’ den amid the chaos and later passed through several communities and villages in the area before reaching safety.

Residents who encountered the escapees confirmed their accounts, while multiple local sources corroborated details of the incident.

A security source told Afrika Eyes on Friday that the victims’ testimonies indicate that the armed criminals turned on one another during a heated confrontation inside the camp.

“According to the escapees, the bandits pointed guns at each other and a serious fight broke out among them. The confusion created an opportunity for the victims to escape from the camp,” the source said.

However, witness accounts and preliminary intelligence suggest that the dispute may have stemmed from disagreements over the sharing of proceeds from criminal activities, leadership struggles within the gang, or other internal conflicts commonly associated with armed criminal groups.

Sources said the resulting disorder significantly weakened the gang’s control over the captives, allowing the two abductees to take advantage of the situation and flee.

The escapees reportedly made brief stopovers in some communities within the Ifelodun axis as they navigated their way out of the area before eventually moving on to safer locations.

Security sources note that firsthand testimonies from escaped victims are often crucial in ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks and rescue other captives.

Information obtained from escapees can provide valuable intelligence regarding the location of hideouts, the structure of criminal camps, the number of armed men operating within such camps, movement patterns, supply routes, and emerging internal divisions among gang members.
