BREAKING: Terrorists Storm Kwara Community Kidnap Scores, Kill,  Injure Several Residents

Ilorin,  Kwara State– Armed terrorists on Saturday night reportedly stormed the Ikerin/Ajuba axis in the Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, launching a violent attack that left several residents kidnapped, others injured, and some killed.

Sources who spoke to Afrika Eyes confirmed the incident on Sunday, noting that the exact number of casualties and abducted victims had not yet been independently verified as of the time of filing this report.

“Yes, it is true but exact numbers of kidnapped, injured and death is yet to be confirmed,” one of the sources said.

According to residents, the attackers were said to have invaded the community axis in large numbers, operating for an unspecified period before disappearing into surrounding forest routes after carrying out the assault.

Panic reportedly spread across nearby settlements as families fled for safety and attempted to reach missing relatives following the attack.

The incident adds to a growing pattern of violent attacks and abductions that have plagued communities in Kwara South in recent months, with residents repeatedly raising concerns over persistent terrorist activities in rural and semi-rural areas of the state.

Community members say the situation has continued to worsen despite repeated cries for urgent security intervention, with many expressing frustration over what they see as limited or ineffective response measures from authorities.

In recent months, several communities across Kwara South have reportedly come under similar attacks, with highways, farmlands, and remote villages increasingly targeted by armed groups, leaving residents in constant fear and disrupting economic and social activities.

As of press time, there has been no official confirmation from security agencies or state authorities regarding the exact casualty figures, the number of abducted persons, or details of the attackers involved in the latest incident.

Afrika Eyes, on April 18, 2026, reported that suspected bandits have abducted a newly installed traditional ruler, his wife, and another individual in a brazen overnight attack on a palace in Olayinka community, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

The incident, which occurred in the early hours of Saturday, has heightened fears over the growing wave of insecurity targeting traditional institutions in Kwara South.

Sources told Afrika Eyes that the armed assailants stormed the palace at about 1:40 a.m., firing sporadically before whisking away the monarch and two others to an unknown destination.

Confirming the attack, a local source said, “Yes, it happened at Olayinka at about 1 a.m. His wife and one other person were also abducted. The monarch is one of those recently graded.”
