He is a terrorist and must be treated as such

Abuja,  Nigeria– A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has convicted the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, on all seven counts of terrorism brought against him by the Federal Government.

Justice James Omotosho, delivering judgment on Thursday, ruled that prosecutors had successfully established every allegation against the IPOB leader — including the claim that he imported a radio transmitter into Nigeria concealed inside a container of used household items, which was not declared at the port.

The court held that Kanu deliberately refused to counter or debunk key pieces of evidence tendered by the government, describing his silence as “an admission by conduct.”

In his ruling , Justice Omotosho said Kanu’s actions contradicted his public claims of being a freedom fighter.

He noted that Kanu has done more harm than good, even to his own people, the judge. “He is a terrorist and must be treated as such.”

The court noted that while Kanu presented himself as an advocate for self-determination, evidence before the court showed a pattern of actions the judge described as “coordinated, unlawful, and dangerous to national security.”
